KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the 17th My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony Exhibition on Friday, 13th May 2022, at the Expo Center, Karachi where more than 220 stalls were established in three halls and the outer area of the Expo Center.

President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Muhammad Idrees, while touching upon some of the salient features of the exhibition, informed that in addition to several recreational activities, the Karachi Chamber in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan would also be holding a seminar on “SMEs Financing” on the first day of the exhibition.

Wherein Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce, Anti-Corruption Establishment & Cooperatives Jam Ikramullah Khan Dharejo was the chief guest.

Mr. A. Q. Khalil,  CEO of Khalil Corporation & General Secretary of Business Men Group, added “The three-day-long exhibition, which concluded on May 15th, 2022, has provided a perfect platform for Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer meetings besides providing recreational facilities to Karachiites who densely participate in this glittering event every year. Several diplomats from friendly countries participated in the event,”

Mr. Idrees, President of KCCI said, “Excluding 2020 and 2021 when the exhibition could not be staged due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, KCCI has regularly organized this show since 2004 without any commercial objective but with a vision to promote the positive image of Karachi and the tagline of ‘Made in Pakistan’, he added. President KCCI said that My Karachi exhibition 2022 has provided an excellent chance to explore the true trade potential of Karachi in particular and Pakistan in general, which is home to natural beauty, traditions, and cultural heritage.

Thai Consul General Lutfee Useng, who was accompanied by Thai Trade Advisor Arif Suleman and others, stated that although Thailand has also been regularly participating in this show it was unable to do so this year due to limited time and space available at the Expo. “However, keeping in view the great potential of Karachi, we will definitely be participating in next year’s exhibition in a big way,” he said.

Chairman Businessmen Group and Former President KCCI Zubair Motiwala, while expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made and the response received from the public, said that thanks to the efforts made by all three office-bearers and Managing Committee Members, the exhibition has been staged in an ideal manner despite several odds.

Mr. A.Q. Khalil said that the sapling of My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony, which was sown by the Late Siraj Kassam Teli in 2004, has grown into a huge tree and has succeeded in attaining the objective of promoting the positive image of Karachi which can be gauged from immense participation of diplomats and Karachiites in the exhibition.

He also appreciated the efforts made by officers of Law Enforcing Agencies particularly Pakistan Rangers and Sindh Police who tried their best to ensure fool-proof security at the exhibition.
